Controversial traditional healer and media personality Gogo Maweni made a dramatic appearance at the Protea Magistrates Court, surrounded by cameras and supported by her loved ones. Maweni, whose real name is Makgotso Mofokeng, faces charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) stemming from a 2019 incident ¹.
The reality TV star, known for her show “Thokoza Gogo” on Moja Love, was accompanied by her husband, Sabelo Mgube, friends, and family. Despite the seriousness of the case, the presence of cameras added a touch of drama to the proceedings.
Maweni is currently out on R5,000 bail, and her case has been postponed to May 15 this year. However, this is not the only legal battle she’s facing. The Gauteng Province Cold Case Investigation Unit has revealed that Maweni also has a separate pending matter from 2017 ¹.
