In a stroke of luck, a South African has woken up R77 million richer after winning the Powerball jackpot on November 26, 2024. The lucky ticket holder walked away with a staggering R77,428,794.30, marking a life-changing moment. The win has not only caught the attention of the nation but also sparked excitement among players hoping for their own slice of the prize. The jackpot, one of the largest this year, comes as part of South Africa’s ongoing lottery draws, which continue to offer millions in prizes.

In addition to the Powerball jackpot, three other players celebrated success, each securing R157,178.80 after matching five of the correct numbers in the second division. A further 144,423 players won R10 each by correctly selecting the Powerball number. While the Powerball Plus jackpot went unclaimed this time, it will roll over to an estimated R12 million for the next draw on November 29. This rollover continues to build anticipation as more players enter the competition, eager for their chance to win big.

The Powerball Plus did have one winner in its second division, where a lucky player matched five correct numbers, taking home a prize of R194,717.60. This victory adds another exciting chapter to the ongoing success of the lottery, highlighting the variety of opportunities for players to win. However, the spotlight remains on the search for the winner of the R19 million Lotto jackpot from a previous draw on November 20. This substantial prize remains unclaimed, with Ithuba urging residents of Rustenburg in the North West province to check their tickets.

Ithuba, the operator of the South African National Lottery, has called on players to verify their winning tickets, especially those who purchased them at Spar stores in Rustenburg. The winner of the R19 million jackpot purchased a ticket for just R60 and manually selected their numbers. As of now, the prize remains uncollected, and Ithuba is actively encouraging all participants from the Rustenburg area to check their tickets, as the deadline for claiming the prize draws closer.

Furthermore, Ithuba has revealed that a significant number of prizes remain unclaimed, with over R257 million still up for grabs across various games. Among the unclaimed jackpots is a PowerBall Plus prize of over R3.4 million, which was purchased in Louis Trichardt, Limpopo, on January 19, 2024. This prize is set to expire on January 19, 2025, so players are urged to come forward and claim their winnings before time runs out. As always, Ithuba reminds all players to regularly check their tickets, as a life-changing prize could be waiting.
