South African football legend and visionary leader Kaizer Motaung has received an Honorary Doctorate in Commerce from Wits University, a prestigious recognition of his extraordinary impact on both sport and society.
At a special ceremony held on 15 July 2025 in the iconic Wits Great Hall, Motaung was celebrated not only as the founder of Kaizer Chiefs Football Club, but as a pioneer who redefined the landscape of South African soccer, inspired generations, and used sport as a vehicle for social upliftment.
