Zotha Masikane, the TV and radio personality who made headlines last week after jumping from the third floor to escape an attempted hijacking, has been discharged from the hospital. The former Uzalo actor and radio host shared his harrowing experience with ZiMoja, revealing that he leapt from the building in a desperate bid to save his life when thugs attempted to hijack his new car. He was taking the vehicle to his parents to show them for the first time when the incident occurred.
In his recovery, Zotha will be staying with close friend and Jozi FM radio host Penny Ntuli in Johannesburg. He expressed deep gratitude for her support, calling her “the sister I never had,” and highlighting their close bond that goes beyond friendship. Ntuli has been a constant presence since Zotha’s hospitalization, even sharing a photo of herself picking him up from the hospital with her daughter.
While recovering, Zotha revealed he opted against surgery for his injured leg, following medical advice to only consider it if healing doesn’t progress. He acknowledged that the incident has disrupted his plans, including auditions and business ventures, but is focusing on his recovery. He remains optimistic and expects to fully recover by April of next year, though he admits learning to walk on crutches is challenging. Despite the setbacks, Zotha expressed his immense gratitude for being alive.
