Joburg lifestyle content creator Thulane “Toolz” Hadebe recently welcomed megastar Tyla to his YouTube channel for a festive edition of his Vlogmas series. The latest episode of Yes, Itβs Me, Toolz features the chart-topping singer in a fun and engaging conversation about her meteoric rise in the music industry.
Tyla, who has had an incredible year, discussed her exclusive event at Coke Studios in Johannesburg, which was hosted by Spotify last Wednesday. The 22-year-old singer has been touring South Africa with her Tyla SA tour, performing to sold-out crowds in Cape Town and Pretoria. Due to high demand, an additional show has been added at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria on January 18, 2024.
Thulane reflected on his first encounter with Tyla back in June 2023 during Spotify’s Greasy Tunes event, where Tyla premiered her breakout hit, Water. He recalls, “She had around 70 to 80 songs, and when she played Water, I knew it was going to be a global hit.” The track has since become a Grammy-winning success and propelled Tyla into the international spotlight.
