Artist manager Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi appeared briefly at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court today, but his case was postponed due to the magistrate’s unavailability. Baloyi, out on R5,000 bail, faces rape charges filed by a prominent actress.
The actress alleges that Baloyi raped her, while he claims the encounter was consensual. Baloyi’s family has consistently supported him, attending his court appearances.
During his last appearance, the matter was postponed to allow the state to verify WhatsApp messages between Baloyi and the alleged victim.
The actress took to social media to address the backlash, stating: “I rely on the law… Please allow due process to take place. Make your judgments after an official judgment has been made.”
Baloyi responded in a video, reiterating that the encounter was consensual and initiated by the actress, citing WhatsApp texts as evidence.
The case is now scheduled for November 29. The court will proceed with the trial once the magistrate is available.
