Music executive Nota Baloyi is reportedly considering legal action against Podcast and Chill presenters MacG and Sol Phenduka following comments made about his recent arrest. Baloyi, who is currently fighting to prove his innocence in the wake of rape charges, accuses the duo of attempting to sway their audience against him with their remarks on the situation.
Former Rhythm City actress Itumeleng Bokaba laid rape charges against Nota, who voluntarily handed himself over to the police and was later released on R5000 bail. The charges have sparked widespread media coverage, with Baloyi vehemently denying the allegations and expressing his commitment to allowing the law to take its course.
During a recent episode of Podcast and Chill, MacG and Sol Phenduka discussed the arrest, emphasising the importance of consent. MacG stated, “Nota could be right in everything he’s saying, but the moment she said no, it doesn’t matter.” Sol Phenduka added, “The deleted messages prove that she said no and pushed him. A no means a no.”
Their commentary has not sat well with Nota, who believes the hosts are unfairly influencing their audience, known as the “Chillers,” and painting him in a negative light.
According to ZiMoja, Nota feels that MacG and Sol are misrepresenting the situation and inciting the public against him. He revealed that he is exploring legal options due to what he perceives as dishonest and damaging remarks.
Despite his frustrations, Nota stressed that he will continue to abide by the law and trusts that the legal process will vindicate him. In the meantime, the case is ongoing, and Baloyi’s legal team is working to prove his innocence.
