Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi, the former artist manager known for his outspoken nature and controversial statements, is back in the headlines after being sentenced to prison for violating a court order. The 34-year-old had previously been instructed by the courts to refrain from spreading information that could implicate musician Ntokozo “K.O.” Mdluli in the assassination of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes. Despite this, Nota ignored the directive, continuing to make public claims regarding K.O.’s alleged involvement, which led to his latest legal woes. Just a year after being found guilty of this violation, Nota was sent behind bars once again, raising questions about his disregard for legal boundaries.

The 60-day sentence was part of a broader set of legal troubles for Nota, but his time in jail was notably brief. He spent two weeks incarcerated, but in a bizarre twist, he described the experience almost like a “caged vacation.” In a social media post following his release, Nota shared his reflections on jail life, claiming that even though it was filled with some of the most dangerous criminals — serial killers, fraudsters, and rapists — he was treated like a VIP. “Among serial killers, mass murderers, rapists, scammers, fraudsters and all manner of deplorable characters, your goat was the biggest rockstar,” he remarked, adding that he received meals, freshly ironed clothes, and a bed prepared for him each day.

Despite his flippant remarks about prison life, Nota strongly advised his followers to avoid incarceration at all costs, calling it “worse than hell.” His tongue-in-cheek attitude toward his time behind bars has sparked controversy, with critics arguing that it trivializes the harsh realities faced by those in the criminal justice system. Nevertheless, his words serve as a warning to others about the consequences of legal infractions, especially for someone in the public eye like him. Nota’s latest legal entanglement, while brief, underscores the growing challenges he faces in both his personal and professional life.

Beyond the violation of court orders, Nota is now facing even more serious charges. Earlier this month, he was arrested while in court to face allegations of rape. The charge stems from a case filed by former Rhythm City actress Itumeleng Bokaba, who accused Nota of sexual misconduct. Bokaba claims that the alleged rape has had devastating effects on both her career and mental health. “This has not only affected my career, but it has also had a negative impact on my mental health. I also had to leave my job because of everything,” she said, describing the toll the incident has taken on her personal and professional life.

Nota, for his part, denies the rape allegations, asserting that his encounter with Bokaba was consensual. He further claims that the situation escalated when Bokaba allegedly attempted to blackmail him, demanding that he promote her music in exchange for her silence. This latest controversy adds another layer of complexity to Nota’s already turbulent public image, as he battles both legal challenges and a tarnished reputation. He remains out on R5,000 bail as the case progresses, and it is clear that his legal troubles are far from over.

While Nota’s legal issues continue to unfold, his behavior and statements continue to attract attention. From the courtroom to the prison cell, his journey through the justice system has been marked by defiance, controversy, and a disregard for authority. Whether or not he will be able to overcome these challenges remains to be seen, but for now, it seems that the former artist manager is caught in an ongoing spiral of legal and personal crises, with no easy resolution in sight.
