Miss South Africa, Mia Le Roux, has shared the personal reasons behind her decision to withdraw from the Miss Universe 2024 pageant, just days before the final. Le Roux revealed that she had been struggling with vertigo, a condition that caused severe dizziness and imbalance, making it physically impossible for her to compete.

In a candid Instagram video, Le Roux explained that vertigo is a debilitating condition where it feels like the world is spinning around you, even when you’re standing still. While she was mentally prepared for the competition, her body was not cooperating, and she had to seek medical help while in Mexico City.

“I was ready mentally, but physically my body was taking strain,” Le Roux shared. “Vertigo was affecting my balance and concentration, and I had to put my health first.” She emphasized that it was a tough decision, but one she felt was necessary to prioritize her well-being
