In a heated social media outburst, Rush Mabanana, a former dancer for award-winning Limpopo star Makhadzi, has voiced his frustrations, claiming ill-treatment and unequal pay during his time working with the musician. Mabanana, who shared the stage with Makhadzi for several performances, alleges that he was paid (R10k lesser} significantly less than his counterpart, Limpopo Boy, and now vows to expose the singer for what he claims were unjust working conditions.

Taking to TikTok Live, Mabanana did not hold back, detailing his grievances and the unfairness he experienced while working with the “Ghanama” hitmaker. “I was paid R10,000 less than Limpopo Boy. I don’t give a f*&$ how people will take what I have to say, but the truth must come out,” Mabanana expressed bluntly. He further alleged that during a close call at the Botswana border, where Makhadzi nearly faced arrest, he offered himself up to authorities to protect her, only to be met with continued mistreatment.

Mabanana did not shy away from his anger, accusing Makhadzi of turning her back on him after everything he had done to protect and support her. “I protected her and loved her like a sister, but she turned her back on me,” he said, clearly still emotional about the betrayal. He also claimed that, despite giving more energy during performances than his colleague Limpopo Boy, his pay was still lower.

Mabanana’s anger spilled into threats, promising to make Makhadzi “suffer” and expose what he says is the truth behind their professional relationship. “I will expose her; what you started will not finish,” he said defiantly. Mabanana also revealed that the male dancers who once performed with Makhadzi, including himself, have since been replaced by female dancers. Despite this, he remains undeterred, asserting that he is thriving on his own, having toured overseas and continuing to build his own career.

In response to Mabanana’s accusations, Makhadzi’s management, represented by Lucky Tshilimandili, expressed regret over the fallout but emphasized that there are two sides to every story. “It’s not easy to part ways with someone you have worked with for a long time. There are two sides to every story,” Tshilimandili stated. While acknowledging the tension, he suggested that perhaps the situation could be resolved with calm discussion, though he was clear that Makhadzi should not entertain threats.
