In a recent interview on “Podcast and Chill,” Errol Musk, father of billionaire Elon Musk, shared a striking account of a 1998 incident where he claimed to have killed three men in self-defense. The story has sparked skepticism among South African netizens. While the tale might sound like a scene from an action movie, many South Africans are questioning the veracity of his claims, with some flat-out dismissing his version of events as highly improbable.
During the conversation with host MacG, Errol recounted the events surrounding the break-in at his Sandton home, where he and his six-year-old daughter were present. He described encountering multiple intruders, one of whom allegedly fired a shot that missed him.
“I heard some noise in the lounge; I went there and discovered a lot of black men. I thought they wanted to rent the place, but the one guy raised his left hand and fired a gun at me, but he missed,” Musk said, adding that he managed to retrieve his own firearm and fired two shots at the attackers.
According to Musk, his shots resulted in the death of three men: “I only fired two shots; one killed two people. The other guy and I shot at the same time. I hit him in the groin, and his shot went into a metal frame in front of me; I would have been dead. Unfortunately, he died.” Musk also claimed that the assailants fired 52 shots at him, none of which hit their mark, while his two shots fatally struck all three intruders “I fired two shots; they fired 52. I’m not proud of it,” Musk added, expressing a mixture of disbelief and regret over the incident.
The online community has raised doubts about the validity of Errol’s story, questioning the improbable circumstances. “It sounds too good to be true,” commented Tjavitjo1, while MohatliMok90788 asked, “Do you believe him?” tee_shelly simply stated, “I don’t believe him.”
