Kaizer Chiefs could be in for a major transfer boost as top target Feisal Salum has reportedly agreed to join the club, following direct talks with his camp.

Nabi’s Expectations and Chiefs’ Mixed Signings Record

Since Nasreddine Nabi’s arrival at Chiefs, there have been high expectations for him to reshape the team. In the two transfer windows since he joined, the club has made 10 signings, but only a few have shown real promise, and some are already linked with exits. Early recruits like Bongani Sam and Fiacre Ntwari are among the players who could be leaving, while Bradley Cross’s future is also uncertain.

Many of these signings weren’t Nabi’s first-choice targets, which may explain their lack of impact so far. It has been reported that Nabi had his eye on a few familiar faces for the squad, including striker Fiston Mayele, whom he coached at Yanga SC, and defensive powerhouse Stephane Aziz Ki, who also played under Nabi at the Tanzanian club. Another target was Feisal Salum, a Tanzanian international, who has been heavily linked to Chiefs.

Salum’s Move to Chiefs Now a Step Closer?

In January, Chiefs had a bid for Salum rejected by Azam FC, but the rumors surrounding his move haven’t died down. According to African sports journalist Eric Ndagijimana, Salum has now given the green light to the transfer.

“EXCLUSIVE: Feisal Salum (Fei Toto) has given the green light for a move to Kaizer Chiefs after direct discussions with his camp. Personal terms are not an issue, and negotiations are now focused on the deal structure between Amakhosi and Azam FC.”
