Despite the potential for making history, Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro insists that the focus is not on setting records, but on winning the cup final. “At this moment, this final matters more than anything. We don’t dwell on past titles; we keep moving forward,” Riveiro said, speaking to Citizen.
“The goal is not just to make it to the final but to be competitive and win. It’s not about celebrating the occasion but about being prepared to do everything to come out on top,” he added.
Riveiro emphasized that it’s not about him personally but about the team’s overall competitive spirit. “We care about our achievements, but it’s not something we constantly think about. We’re here to do our job and focus on what’s ahead.”
“We’re not under any obligation to win three in a row, but we aim to do so because it’s our duty as a club,” Riveiro concluded.
